Calculate salary, hourly pay, overtime and estimated take-home pay.
Optional. Overtime is added to gross pay. For federal income tax, only the qualifying overtime premium may be deductible—not the full overtime wage.
For 2025–2028, the federal deduction generally applies only to overtime required under the FLSA and only to the amount above the regular rate. Married taxpayers must file jointly. Overtime remains subject to Social Security and Medicare taxes.
Federal and jurisdiction estimate: Tax Year 2026
State estimates use versioned 2026 data. Local taxes, credits, exemptions and other special rules may not be fully modeled. Territory calculations with special residency or tax systems are explicitly identified.
Use Bravunel's free salary calculator to convert an annual salary or hourly wage into hourly, weekly, biweekly and monthly pay. Add overtime to estimate gross pay and take-home pay using federal, FICA and supported state or territory tax data.
For hourly or salary workers with additional overtime, enter regular hours, overtime hours and the overtime multiplier. The calculator adds overtime to gross pay and estimates the federal qualified-overtime deduction when enabled. This is an estimate; actual eligibility depends on FLSA coverage, reporting and taxpayer-specific requirements.
The calculator includes all 50 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Jurisdictions with special territorial rules are identified rather than being presented as ordinary state calculations.
Federal estimates use structured 2026 IRS data. State estimates use versioned 2026 state rate and bracket data. The state model is intentionally a salary-estimator model, not tax-preparation software.
Tax data is versioned by tax year. Bravunel uses the latest validated dataset available to the calculator and is designed to flag a new tax year for review rather than silently changing tax-law assumptions without verification.
Net pay is an estimate and may differ from an actual paycheck. Federal and state withholding can depend on filing elections, credits, deductions, benefits, local taxes, residency and other circumstances. Bravunel does not provide tax-preparation services.
